Tensioning threads are a minimally invasive way to get a facelift without surgery. Developed in Europe in the 1990s, the yarns are now inexpensive and perfectly perfected in order to give optimal semi-permanent results.

The tensor threads are in fact synthetic fibers of polydioxanone (PDO). PDO provides mechanical traction on tissues, but also stimulates the natural production of collagen, thus promoting skin rejuvenation by improving its elasticity, texture and shine.

The wires are completely absorbable over a period of 12 months. A result will be visible immediately after treatment, but it will be maximal over a period of a few months. The results thus obtained will certainly require maintenance over time, because the action of aging cannot be stopped. However, we can qualify the results as semi-permanent, since they last over time.

Tensioning threads are very useful tools for lifting the eyebrows, reducing jowls and improving the oval of the face. Smaller threads are also very interesting for filling the hollows in the face. Indeed, the wires can also be used to fill in hollows such as dark circles, perioral wrinkles, glabella and forehead wrinkles, as well as wilting wrinkles on the cheeks. It is even possible to lift the tip of the nose with suitable threads.
Quickly effective, PDO leads are usually used in pediatric surgery.
